Otay Supports Virtual Food Drive to Fight Hunger During COVID-19 Crisis
At a time when it is needed most, the Otay Water District is partnering with the San Diego County Water Authority, other local water agencies, and the San Diego Food Bank to provide food assistance through a virtual food drive for those affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
The San Diego Food Bank provides thousands of people with food and resources throughout the year and will continue to operate for families and seniors during this pandemic. To assist in providing aid to those in need, the Otay Water District is encouraging its nearly 228,000 customers, employees, and anyone who is able to donate through the Virtual Food Drive at their convenience.
Also, as always, the District continues its commitment to provide a safe and reliable water supply for its customers.
Through the Virtual Food Drive, donors can select and purchase food items securely online to donate to the Food Bank. The most-needed items include canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruits, peanut butter, oatmeal, and cereal.
